Inez Rose Michael

Inez Rose (nee Garlitz) Michael, 88, of Amherst, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a short illness. Born in Avilton, Md., she moved to Ohio in 1950. She was an electronic tester at Lorain Products for 15 years before retiring in 1980. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. She enjoyed oil painting, antiques, quilting and sewing, reading and spending time with her family and many grandchildren. Survivors include daughters Alice Marie Kelleher and Wanda Lee Gargasz, both of Amherst, and Mary Ann Pool of South Amherst; a brother, Ellis Garlitz of Avilton, Md.; a sister, Lillian Kemp of Sheffield Lake; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Owen Michael; a son, William W. Michael; her parents, Orville and Malla Garlitz; brothers Joseph, Paul and Leonard Garlitz; and two grandchildren. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Township. Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Rev. Lawrence N. Martello, will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
