MARY M BITTINGER

GRANTSVILLE — Mary Mildred Bittinger, 94, of 715 Old New Germany Road, Grantsville, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Vincentian Regency, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Born Aug. 1, 1908, in Coal Run, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Cordelia (Garlitz) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rexford O. Bittinger Sr., Aug. 28, 1994.

Mrs. Bittinger was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Grantsville, and the Christian Mothers. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Rexford O. Bittinger Jr., Hanover, Patrick Bittinger, Lanham, and Regis Bittinger, Cumberland; one daughter, Mildred Hengelsberg, Allison Park, Pa.; two brothers, Harold Miller, Tiffin, Ohio, and Paul Miller, Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Romaine Smith, Cumberland, and Laverne Kirian, Republic, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Grantsville, on Wednesday at noon with the Rev. Doug Kenney officiating.

Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 3:45 p.m.
