They lived on a farm near Montgomery, Michigan, most of their lives. Although he and his sister, Elizabeth Frisbey, lived only 30 to 40 miles apart and because travel in early days was not easy, then by horse and buggy, they had not seen each other for years. However about 1920 he came to visit her and was talking to her husband in the yard. She was upstairs and could not see him but remembered his voice and said to her daughter "Why that is Urias Boyd". For a number of years the Boyds held a reunion each year the the home of some member of the family. It was held at the home of Urias Boyd August 21, 1932 and August 15, 1937. Urias was very jolly and full of fun and enjoyed joking and a bit of teasing. He and his brother Douglas visited at the home of Phillip in Cadillac.
