• "What good fortune that I "happened" upon your Garlitz website today.  This is the first time I've seen the name of my gggrandfather mentioned anywhere online and wonder if you have information that may help me locate his family line. The name he used was Josiah Garlets.  He was married (to Martha Ann Stephenson) in Adams Co. IL in 1850 and by 1852 they were in Oregon.  In subsequent census records and his Oregon Land Claim paperwork he lists his birthplace as PA and the ages consistently indicate his birth date is about 1825.  He was the father of seven children and named his only son, my ggrandfather, Henry Cooper Garlets, which has led me to many dead-end searches for a "Henry" connection in PA and IL..  Do you have any information about this Josiah?  Could he be a sibling of David and a son of John?  Any leads you can provide will be much appreciated."
